[vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”full”]We are proud to honor Meryl and Russell Kern with the T’Shuvah Award and Brad Wiseman with the Harriet Award at Beit T’Shuvah’s 27th Annual Gala, this Sunday, January 20.
Meryl and Russell Kern, T’Shuvah Award recipients, share a long history with Beit T’Shuvah that began when Meryl’s daughter needed help and they immersed themselves in the community. They both share a passion for giving back and helping others and have held key leadership roles within the organization.
Completing his two-year term as Beit T’Shuvah’s Board Chair, the marketing guru is the proud founder of KERN, an Omnicom Agency. Responsible for the inception of Creative Matters, Beit T’Shuvah’s full-service creative agency, Russell’s influence can be felt all throughout BTS. Today, Creative Matters continues to thrive and boasts an impressive client list, and remains a source of great pride and inspiration for the entire Kern family.
Serving in a variety of positions at Beit T’Shuvah, the contributions of Meryl are both conspicuous and heartfelt. Playing to her amazing leadership skills, Meryl has served as co-chair for BTS’ Gala committee and plays a key role on the organization’s Circle of Majesty Committee as well. Meryl, who worked in advertising, served as a mentor and helped to generate new business for her former agency. Between them, Meryl and Russell have five children and four grandchildren.
It is with tremendous pride that we honor Meryl and Russell for their innumerable contributions to the Beit T’Shuvah community. They are an extraordinary couple whose passionate guidance has literally saved lives and enabled so many to begin anew.
Brad Wiseman is the recipient of the Harriet Award. His father Hal Wiseman, of blessed memory, was the recipient of the same award in 2005. Sharing the passion of his father, Brad serves on Beit T’Shuvah Board and is proud to carry on his father’s legacy within the organization.
It was his father who had the original vision to create a thrift store and helped secure the property in 2001. Considered one of the best thrift shops in Los Angeles, the store is a significant source of revenue for Beit T’Shuvah and provides opportunities for residents to gain valuable work experience. Brad continues to play an active role in the thrift store and is instrumental to the store’s continued success.
Brad is the Managing Partner at Pinnacle Estate Properties Inc. in Calabasas. He is married to Dolly Wiseman, and together they have five children and two grandchildren.
It is with great pleasure that we honor Brad for his enduring commitment to Beit T’Shuvah. His involvement in the BTS Thrift Store both as a mentor and a businessman has not only transformed lives but has significantly contributed to the financial well-being of the organization. We could not be more grateful. We hope you are able to join us in honoring them Sunday.
