2019 Running 4 Recovery

We are so proud of our Running 4 Recovery team who took to the streets of LA yesterday as a featured charity in the LA Marathon.  24,000 people participated in the iconic 26.2 mile race which begins at Dodger Stadium and ends near the Santa Monica Pier on Ocean Avenue. The LA Marathon is considered to be one of most prestigious marathons worldwide.

The BTS team had 51 members – 36 residents and 15 community partners comprised of staff, board members and friends.  The funds raised from the Running 4 Recovery team will fuel Beit T’Shuvah’s unique treatment program and make scholarship support available for the many residents that need financial assistance to subsidize their treatment.

Our team has been training for months to prepare for the race and coach Leslie Gold, our inspiring and dedicated leader guided the team for six months of training and was there at the finish line to congratulate each team member as they crossed the finish line and received their medals.  Jillian Coventry, our Marathon Coordinator and the newest member of the BTS Development Department also deserves a huge shout out for all of her hard work and for coordinating the countless details for the marathon team and block party.  To everyone who helped Jillian and the team on various tasks…thank you!  We are all grateful for the support from our staff and community.

The LA Marathon is the ultimate community builder and it is a thrill to be part of the city wide race that was expected to raise $4 million dollars for various charities and brought the people of LA together  to cheer on the runners.
